MSNBC Advertisement in AdWeek
Interesting that of all the models available to MSNBC's ad agency, they chose a black male model to represent the tag line "we are catalysts for your brand" and "MSNBC Change Makers."

According to my sources, this is the first time in Vogue history that black women were featured on the cover in back to back issues. Beyonce was on the April cover and Liya shares the May cover with Natalia and Anna.

Liya Kebede - Estee Lauder Model
Kebede's big break came when Tom Ford asked her for an exclusive contract for his Gucci Fall/Winter 2000 fashion show. Kebede's popularity in the fashion industry sky-rocketed when she appeared on the cover of the May 2002 edition of Paris Vogue which dedicated the entire issue to her. As the first black model to work with Estee Lauder in its 59 year history, Liya is a role model to many aspiring models.
Selita Ebanks - Victoria Secret Model
This lingerie lovely is the latest Victoria's Secret millionaire. The 25-year-old was born in the Cayman Islands and lived in New York while contemplating a career in law. Quincy Jones and Jimmy Choo. Perfect Together.
Whoever the creative director for this campaign was, it's brilliant. What a fantastic combination - appealing to a more sophisticated yet edgy consumer.
Pierre Woods Models for Ralph Lauren
Remember those ubiquitous Ralph Lauren ads for his Summer Olympics collection? The company was the official clothier of the Beijing games, and ads—featuring models in trademark Lauren wear emblazoned with the interlocking Olympic rings—were plastered everywhere. Many, both inside the industry and out, started to ask about the black male model with the flawless features who appeared so prominently in the campaign. His name is Pierre Woods, and he had scored Lauren’s fall campaign as well. The 27-year-old’s rapid rise and backstory have drawn comparisons to one of our favorite models, Tyson Beckford.
